After an accident, you’re probably feeling pretty upset, especially if you find yourself in a hospital bed and spending thousands on treatments for your injuries. However, if another’s negligence is to blame for your accident, a good lawyer can help you get compensation for your medical bills and other damages. Here are a few important things to look for when choosing a good personal injury lawyer:
1. Experience
When looking for a lawyer to handle your case, you should check to see if she can handle your kind of personal injury claim. It helps if your attorney has been practicing for a period of time and has successfully negotiated dozens of personal injury settlements. An attorney’s performance in the past is great for determining how she’ll perform for you.
2. Resources
If you decide to file a personal injury claim, you want your case to succeed. By hiring an attorney who is part of a large law firm, you’ll have more minds and resources aimed at finding an acceptable solution for your case.
3. Contingency
When most people suffer injuries from an accident, their finances are often spread too thin to hire an attorney. Fortunately, the personal injury attorneys at Brown & Crouppen work on a contingency-fee basis, which means that they don’t get paid until they win a settlement. Finding a lawyer who works on contingency is a great way to make sure that your attorney works hard for you and your case.
4. Personality
Finally, it’s always a good idea to sit down and speak with an attorney to get a feel for his personality. You should always select the one you believe will do the best job and is easy to work with.
If you’re looking for an experienced personal injury attorney, contact Brown & Crouppen. This short video discusses the dangers of overcorrection. When you suddenly find yourself driving on the side of the road, your first instinct is to overcorrect in order to get back on the road. For safety’s sake, it’s important that you stay alert and teach yourself to gradually turn the wheel in these situations.
